I have been concentrating on playing American old-time/Bluegrass and Irish/Celtic fiddle styles. I feel that these tend to draw together the various musical styles that I teach. It’s also fun for the banjo students to have a fiddle playing along with them, as it brings a different kind of focus to their performance I would now like to offer beginning fiddle lessons to interested students. Please note that these are not graded, formal (classical) violin lessons. The focus will be on simple traditional fiddle styles with whatever technical work the student needs in order to progress. The fiddle is an exacting instrument – it’s not a convenient accompaniment piece like the guitar, so be prepared to practice! Like everything else, if you put in the time, you’ll get the results and it’s a very rewarding experience I take all levels of students, from beginning and upwards, so if you’re just starting out, don’t worry. Lessons can be 30 mins, 45 mins or an hour, it’s up to you. The first step is to contact me and we can discuss your needs and interests. |
